Tieling New City, located in the center area of the transportation zone between Harbin and Dalian in Northeast China, plays an important role in connecting Heilongjiang,Jilin and other provinces. It is some 30 kilometers south to Shenyang, one of the most energetic cities in China. Transportation has proved to be fast and convenient in Tieling New City. The Beijing—Harbin Electrization Railway, Harbin-Dalian Freeway and G102 National Highway pass through the new city from north to south. It is about 40 minutes drive to Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, 2 hours drive on freeway to Tingkou harbor, and 3 hours drive to Dalian harbor. The newly planned speed passenger transport railways and Beijing—Harbin Highway will cover the city, extending its transportation network in all directions.

The Industry Zone from Shenyang to Tieling stretches about 120 kilometers along 102 National Highway, from Shenyang Northern Agricultural Hi-tech Development Zone in the south. It passes through two economic zones, one is between Tieling and Mount Diaobing and the other is from Kaiyuan to the present Xifeng. The Industry Zone in Tieling area covers 194 square kilometers, consisting of 17 characteristic and self-contained Industry Parks.
